Westman Wildcats forward Billie Baranyk and goaltender Payton Murray will be joining the Assiniboine Community College Cougars women’s hockey program this fall.
After spending the 2021-22 campaign with the Rink Hockey Academy Winnipeg’s under-18 female prep program, Baranyk returned to the Wildcats this past season and was fifth in team scoring with 21 points in 25 games.
Murray was the backup netminder to Grace Glover over the last two years. She put together a 12-5-0 regular season record with 2.41 goals against average, a .902 save percentage and two shutouts.
The Brandonites join Wildcats forward Brooklyn Franklin, Interlake Lightning defender Kylee Emms-Finnsson and Pembina Valley Hawks forward Mya Pearce as players who have committed to the Cougars for the 2023-24 campaign.
