Ryden Hargreaves notched 21 kills on 38 attempts as the Assiniboine Community College Cougars ended the first semester of Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference men’s volleyball on a high note.

The Cougars dropped the host St. Boniface Les Rouges 3-2 (25-21, 21-25, 21-25, 29-27, 15-9) in Winnipeg on Saturday, improving to 4-5. Les Rouges dropped to 0-9.

Carter Beattie posted 17 kills and eight aces for ACC.

In the women’s match, Taylor Cox put up nine kills and two blocks in a losing effort for the Cougars (1-8).

Les Rouges (8-1) swept three close sets 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-22).

Assiniboine returns to action at Providence on Jan. 14 and plays its next home match against St. Boniface on Jan. 20.
