Osman Abukar Sufi scored two goals as the Crocus Plainsmen finished the Kenora Challenge Cup with a win on Saturday.

Isaac Afolayan netted the other Plainsmen goal from the penalty spot in a 3-1 victory over the Dryden Eagles in the seventh-place game.

Crocus lost 2-1 to St. Thomas Aquinas earlier in the day as Gift Kasereka scored the lone goal for the Plainsmen.

The Plainsmen dropped their opener 2-1 to Beaver Brae on Friday evening, with Justin McLachlan hitting the net.

Crocus rounds out the Brandon High School Soccer League regular season on Wednesday at Neelin at 4:30 p.m. The Spartans visit the Vincent Massey Vikings today at 4:30 p.m.

On the girls’ side, the Plainsmen host the Spartans on Tuesday. Neelin hosts Massey on Thursday.

Meanwhile, in city softball action, Massey takes on Crocus in exhibition play today, then plays the last regular season game against Neelin on Tuesday at Ashley Neufeld Softball Complex at 4:15 p.m.
