Questioning our world
I am often challenged to understand why senseless things occur in our troubled world and why they receive support by less than intelligent persons. To support Donald Trump’s bid for the White House given his myriad of indiscretions and subsequent investigations into serious transgressions is bizarre. His grandstanding is truly nauseating. I could go on, but I think this short tirade conveys the message intended.
Pence showing true colours
How hypocritical it is to see former vice-president Mike Pence now standing up against Donald Trump when throughout his time in office as VP he never publicly denounced the vicious and brainless actions of Trump. He is only now taking a stand because it suits him politically. That man, in the grand scheme of things, is no better than Trump himself.
A smile goes a long way
I enjoyed the recent column about Americans — and people in general — spending too much time alone. I think that has a major impact on our current political climate and how we are failing to relate and connect to each other, which results in a divided society. We would all benefit from more friendly interactions at the grocery store, a smile or wave on the sidewalk, and so on. Those small actions have a big effect in the long run. Let’s try harder to make each other feel loved and cared for.
