Animals need advocates

About the man who was arrested for animal cruelty — come on, people of Brandon, let’s hear some comments about this heart-breaking article. Our laws are useless when it comes to animal abuse. Time to stand up for the animals, as they cannot speak for themselves.

Bus drivers

As a professional truck driver, the only way you’re going to get drivers is to start bumping up their wages. It’s a professional job. You’re sitting all day dealing with the public. Give them a raise and watch them come.

Increase Transit wages

If Brandon is spending more than double its approved budget to compensate overtime hours in the transportation department, perhaps the city should increase the wages of the drivers and see if that will improve recruitment and retention. I can only imagine some of the challenges drivers have to deal with, from rowdy riders to uncomfortable working conditions. I doubt it’s an easy job.
